Best DIY Soap Scum Destroyer

I’m sure you all are like me and love cleaning? Just kidding….it is not my favorite past time, but we all have to do it sooner or later. I like to get my kids involved in the cleaning process. I didn’t want a lot of chemicals that might hurt them. Lots of cleaners work great, but are so full of chemicals that no one needs to inhale them or touch them. If you have to use gloves because a cleaner will eat your skin, then I am out! I found this cleaner idea many years ago online and just tried it. It worked so well on my shower, bath, and even spot treating my carpet, that I have never bought anything else. My girls can use this and not worry about touching the ingredients because it’s no different than washing the dishes. I know that Dawn dish soap isn’t exactly organic and totally natural, but it is much better than those other super harsh cleaners on the market. Sometimes, I have to do what works best and realize that using Dawn dish soap will not kill me…LOL! If it worries you, then by all means, wear gloves while cleaning and then nothing is touching your skin. Try it and I know you will LOVE it as much as I do! You can Thank me later for that sparkling bath/shower you will be gazing at….

Recipe:

You will need a 32 oz. spray bottle

Magic Eraser

Some kind of scrubber pad

Baking soda

2 Tbsp. Blue Dawn Dish Soap

3/4 Cup White distilled Vinegar

Pour the Dish soap in the bottle, add vinegar. Next, fill the rest of the bottle with cool water. (hot or warm water causes more bubbles) Shake around and make sure it is all mixed up well. DONE! You have a bottle of the most wonderful, inexpensive cleaner around!

Spray your shower or tub down with the solution. Sprinkle some baking soda on what you have sprayed. Re-spray the baking soda and let set for 3-5 min. You will see the baking soda start to fizz. Next, take your scrub pad and start cleaning. I like to use the scrub pad, then go over it with the magic eraser. If you have a lot of soap scum build up, it might take a couple times of spraying the solution and scrubbing.
